Its central conviction is simple: Egypt's future must be designed as a coherent whole—with national identity, economic capability and human dignity advancing together.

The Egyptian Dream – Egypt 2030 is one of the strategic publications authored by Eng. Shady Abo El-Fetouh. The book approaches water, agriculture, industry, energy, transportation, urban development, finance and human development as interconnected components of a single national system.

Rather than presenting one standalone project, the publication proposes a broader framework for reshaping Egypt's development map. It begins with Egypt's identity, historical significance and civilizational position before moving into proposed development axes intended to expand the country's inhabited and productive areas and strengthen its economic and strategic capabilities.

Expanding the development map

New water resources. New corridors. New productive land.

At the heart of the vision is the “New Nile” axis, through which the book examines proposals for expanding Egypt's water resources and creating new development corridors beyond the traditional Nile Valley and Delta.

The publication discusses concepts associated with the Congo River and the Jonglei Canal, alongside the creation of a new watercourse and interconnected development corridors. Its original targets envisage approximately 28 million additional cultivated acres and up to 95 billion cubic metres of water annually, within a broader scenario targeting total annual water resources of approximately 161 billion cubic metres.

Optimising the established heartland

Rebuilding productivity across the Nile Valley and Delta.

The “Old Nile” axis focuses on the redevelopment and optimisation of Egypt's existing Nile Valley and Delta—encompassing agriculture, industry, transport, communications, housing, healthcare, education, tourism, public services and the redistribution of economic activity and population.

Within this wider productive framework, the publication proposes ambitious targets involving more than 11,000 industrial zones and approximately 11,000 livestock farms, creating new centres of production, employment and development while connecting agricultural expansion with an industrial and logistical network.

Integration and national security

Connecting Sinai to Egypt's wider economic and urban system.

Sinai represents another major strategic axis within The Egyptian Dream. The vision addresses the Suez Canal Corridor, Ismailia, Suez, Central Sinai, Al-Arish, Rafah, Taba and Sharm El-Sheikh, together with proposals for connecting the peninsula more extensively with the Nile Valley and Delta through new railway and transportation networks.

Within the book's framework, Sinai is treated as an integral component of Egypt's development and national-security geography. The proposed network seeks to strengthen economic and urban integration while connecting the Mediterranean, the Gulf of Suez and the Gulf of Aqaba through a wider system of transportation and development centres.

From infrastructure to economic system

Agriculture, industry, energy, transport and finance—designed together.

Water resources and newly developed land are envisaged as the foundation for expanded agricultural, industrial and urban activity, supported by railway networks, roads, energy infrastructure and new communities.

The book presents a vision for significantly expanding Egypt's electricity-generation and export capabilities, while recognising financing, investment and effective administration as essential to implementation. Infrastructure, production, investment, population distribution and Egypt's geographic position operate within one unified strategic framework.

The publication does not define development solely through infrastructure and economic output. It gives particular attention to national and heritage values, traditions and popular customs, spiritual and religious values, cultural development, recreation and quality of life.

Libraries, places of worship, historic areas, parks, youth centres, sports facilities and community life are treated as elements of national development.
